Siri AI: The Heart of the Update
The new assistant, called Siri AI, is now a true chatbot with personal context, onscreen awareness, and cross-app actions. A major addition is the dedicated Siri app, which Craig Federighi explained as a natural system extension to manage and resume conversations. Siri AI requires an iPhone 15 Pro or later, but the most advanced features, like enhanced dictation and expressive voices, need 12 GB of unified memory, thus excluding the base iPhone 17 (8 GB) and older models.
